However, a close examination of the act reveals that Americans have benefited from affordable health services. Overall, the ACA has helped the government and policy makers to expand insurance cover and scope of health services. The move to adopt the ACA has been applauded by the majority of Americans who believe that it was an effective strategy that the government used to shift from a financing system to an institution that rewards health care providers for their ability to provide high quality services. Based on the pieces of evidences provided by researchers from different fields of studies, this paper argues in support of the statement the Affordable Care Act should be reformed, not repealed. (317) in their article "Improving the Population's Health: the Affordable Care Act and the Importance of Integration" indicated that the primary goal of healthcare is to improve health outcomes through the provision of effective medical services. Furthermore, the researchers indicated that public health systems must remain committed to those plans that can improve the overall health of the population. While health care services receive huge funding and support from politicians and policymakers, public health in most cases are starved of resources. Therefore, the only way to reduce morbidity and mortality rates is by shifting the attention of politicians and policymakers to public health services. With ACA, the federal government has been able to maximize positive health outcomes. The integration of private health care and public health has also helped service provider to ensure equal distribution of resources and health services. In a different study, Saltzman, Christine, and Alain (2095) demonstrated that ACA is a reflection of the kind of dominance health care has over public health. The ACA has become an important tool used by the US government to enhance access to health care services mainly through reforms in insurance scheme. By repealing the ACA: (1) the US government will not have the opportunity to fulfil its primary goal of improving health outcomes; and (2) the government will simply be displaying its non-commitment overall health issues. Politicians will be proving to the entire world that they are driven by their desires and not the health needs of the population. On the perspective of negative impacts, the researcher indicated that the increasing family premiums means that the employer-sponsored market will continue to operate at higher costs than the expected level.
